Weissport,  Founded in the late 18th century by Revolutionary War hero Jacob Weiss and his family, the village had just incorporated prior to the printing of the Carbon County Atlas.  The borough lies exclusively between the Lehigh River on the west and the Lehigh Canal on the east.
